Wunderlich-Malec’s Mat Garver, Operations Manager of our Electrical Testing Group, will be presenting at the 2026 Georgia Tech Protective Relay Conference, April 15–17, 2026, in Atlanta, Georgia. Mat co-authored the paper “FLISR: When Communications Fail – A Dynamic Approach to Grid Resiliency and Improved Reliability” with Milan Patel, Keith Scott, and Richard Tuck of Dominion Energy. The paper covers both communications-based and decentralized FLISR schemes, and presents a strategy for deploying both types simultaneously to improve grid resiliency and reliability in a practical, cost-effective way.

Cybersecurity threats targeting water and wastewater utilities are increasing in frequency and sophistication. Industrial control systems, chemical treatment processes, and water flow operations remain high-value targets, and the regulatory and operational pressure on utilities to address these vulnerabilities continues to grow.
