Our Project Management Services Group traded desks for dirt and spent the day volunteering at Gaining Ground, an organic farm in Concord, Massachusetts. We cleared weeds and spread mulch across one of the growing areas, the kind of work that keeps a farm healthy enough to produce food for the people who need it most.
Gaining Ground is a nonprofit, volunteer-driven farm that grows vegetables, fruit, and flowers, then donates all of it to food pantries, shelters, and meal programs across Massachusetts. No sales, just donations, which means the farm depends almost entirely on volunteers like us to keep things running through the growing season.
Community service is part of who we are. Days like this pull us out of our usual routine and let us make a difference somewhere we can actually see it. A sincere thank you to the staff and volunteers at Gaining Ground for having us. We are grateful for the small part we played and are looking forward to the next one.
