Steam & Combustion Turbine Fuel Valve Control

Turbine speed and load depend on the precise control of steam or fuel flow and are critical for the safe and efficient operation of your turbine. Case RMC is an industry leader in the design and implementation of valve actuation systems for rotating equipment.

We provide precision solutions that supplement existing actuation systems with improved complete actuator and servo valve replacements. Also, we are skilled at providing electro-hydraulic systems that control water flow to maintain speed and load of hydro turbines.

Precision Engineering for Critical Operations

Case RMC engineers specialize in the application of highly sophisticated systems that convert electronic signals into mechanical motion. These applications require high reliability, millisecond speed, and absolute precision to keep valve position. This accuracy is essential to maintaining constant rotation, preventing turbine over-speeding, and ensuring safe steam pressures or fuel flow.

Our solutions are designed in-house, using custom-manufactured components. Every system is assembled and rigorously tested in our facilities before being shipped and installed on-site. Our skilled electrical and mechanical engineers deliver fully integrated, digitally controlled high-pressure hydraulic or electric fuel valve actuator solutions.

Key Operational Benefits

Upgrading to a Case RMC actuation system improves the longevity and performance of your equipment with:

Improved Reliability

We focus on reducing failure potential and increasing system uptime through robust design.

  • Fault-Tolerant Components: We utilize redundant servos and LVDTs, enabling on‐line testing and repair of actuator components without shutting down.
  • Modernization: We replace older, degraded components to significantly reduce the risk of failure.
  • Sustainable Sourcing: We replace antiquated, hard-to-source parts with industry-standard commodity components, simplifying future supply chain needs.

Advanced Diagnostics, Troubleshooting, and Maintenance

Our systems provide deep visibility of your equipment’s health, allowing for proactive management.

  • Parameter Logging: Critical parameters such as alarms and trips are continuously monitored and logged (e.g., servo, LVDT, cylinder pressure).
  • On-Line Maintenance: The inclusion of isolation valves, improved access, and redundant components allows for extensive maintenance activities while the system stays online.

Enhanced System Functionality

Gain greater flexibility and control over your operations.

  • DCS Integration: On‐line valve testing and calibration are available for display and operation directly through the plant Distributed Control System (DCS).
  • Critical Monitoring: Vital parameters are monitored constantly and used for immediate alarming or trip indication.
  • Safe Testing: Our systems allow for turbine valve actuation and testing without requiring the starting or operation of the turbine. Online testing is provided if machinery and field devices are compatible.
  • Operational Flexibility: Individual valve actuation enables multiple control valve operating modes, scheduling and flow characterization providing superior system adaptability.
